Before adoption, all animals are spayed or neutered at our clinic, brought up to date on vaccinations, are tested for either heartworm or feline leukemia/aids, and are microchipped.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Services

The Kent Spay/Neuter Clinic offers one of the lowest prices on Long Island to the public for dog and cat  spaying and neutering. Over 4,000 animals are sterilized each year at our clinic. Three licensed veterinarians perform the surgery assisted by a professional staff.

Low-Cost Vaccinations & Vet Products

 Kent Animal Shelter’s clinic also offers low cost vaccinations. Veterinary products, such as flea control, are also available

Spay/Neuter K-9 Surgery

Adult Female Dog (based on weight);

0-20lbs $ 160.00, 21-40 lbs. $ 175.00, 41-60 lbs. $ 195.00, 61-80 lbs. $ 230.00, 81-100 lbs. $ 260.00, 101-120 lbs. $ 295.00.

Additional Fees if applicable; K-9 "In heat" fee

$ 50.00-$ 85.00, Pregnancy $ 150.00

Adult Male Dog (based on weight);

0-20lbs. $ 145.00, 21-40lbs. $ 160.00, 41-60 lbs. $ 175.00, 61-80lbs. $ 175.00, 81-100lbs. $ 235.00, 101-120lbs. $ 270.00

Additional fee if applicable; (Cryptorchid-Retained testicles) $ 100.00

 

* All dogs 5 years and over need to receive pre-surgical blood tests. The cost the screening is $ 45.00 and needs to be scheduled prior to surgery. Please schedule accordingly.

Miscellaneous Fees;

  1. Dew Claw excision; $ 50.00 per dew claw

  2. Hernia Repair $ 75.00

  3. Heartworm test $ 40.00

 

Wellness Care for Dogs;

  • Distemper/Parvo vaccine $ 45.

  • Rabies Vaccine  $ 30.

  • Lymes vaccine  $ 40.

  • Leptospirosis  $ 35.

  • Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccine  $ 35.

  • Heartworm test  $ 40.

  • Microchipping  $ 35.

Clinic Procedures and Forms

Due to our CoVid 19, our procedures have changed.

  1. No public is allowed in the clinic building.

  2. You will bring your pet to the fenced in area just behind the clinic. Only one pet owner with pet will be allowed in that area at a time.

  3. The technician will come out of the  building when you arrive and take your pet. You must be wearing a mask or face cover when you arrive for the appointment.

Feral Cat includes Rabies and an ear notch $50

All feral cats must be in traps and exhibit feral behavior otherwise the fee will be higher as designated above for domesticated cats.

 

Wellness Care for Cats

  • Distemper vaccine $ 30.

  • Rabies vaccine $ 25.

  • Leukemia vaccine $ 35.

  • Distemper/rabies combo vaccine $ 45.

  • Feline leukemia/AIDS test $ 40.

Cancellation Policy
 

48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment $25 cancellation fee for appointments rescheduled or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice

* No office fee will be incurred for routine vaccinations because we do not offer examinations.

 

Additional fees may be incurred for surgical complications such as heat, pregnancy, retained testicles, etc.

It can take as long as one month for a surgical appointment and one week for a vaccination appointment. Please plan in advance.

We occasionally receive grants that allow us to offer these services at a lower cost. Please call for availability.
