Rescue 2012!

Saving lives and rescuing adoptable pets from
abuse, neglect, high-kill shelters throughout the
U.S., from puppy mills, and even from more
exotic places like the Caribbean, is part of what
we do at Kent Animal Shelter. We partner with
many organizations and individuals to rescue,
transport, and find good homes for hundreds of
pets each year.

Hollywood: land of the young, famous and
trendy. Chihuahuas, malteses, miniature
dachshunds, toy poodles... any small breed is
considered fashionable and the must-have dog
at the moment. But too often these dogs are
discarded once they grow out of their cute
puppy phase and are no longer trendy. Many
small breed dogs find themselves on the
euthanasia list at these overcrowded L.A.
shelters! Instead, they were rescued and we're
finding them forever homes.

Shelter

Volunteers are an important part of what
makes the shelter a special place and what
enables the organization to save more
animals. There are many ways to volunteer.
Please visit our Volunteers page for more

Sponsor A Kent Pet

If you'd like to help make sure that a
homeless cat or dog at the shelter goes to a
good home, but you can't adopt the animal
yourself, please consider sponsoring it.
Sponsoring a pet costs $20/month and
provides shelter, food, and veterinary care
while the animal is at the shelter. To
sponsor a pet, please call Kent Animal
Shelter at (631) 727-5731 and someone will
be glad to assist you.
